BOARD POSITIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a board member, you will help shape the vision, strengthen community relationships, and ensure the sustainability of our programs. We are seeking passionate, reliable, and purpose-driven individuals who are ready to lead, serve, and make a difference.


President

The President serves as the primary leader of the organization, ensuring that the mission and vision of D.A.R.L.N Donations are upheld and executed effectively.

Duties:

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the organization

  • Preside over board meetings and organizational events

  • Ensure the organization operates in alignment with its mission and bylaws

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative of the organization

  • Oversee board performance and development

  • Collaborate with board members to set goals and initiatives

  • Support fundraising and partnership development efforts


Vice President

The Vice President supports the President and assumes leadership responsibilities in their absence while helping manage internal operations.

Duties:

  • Assist the President with organizational leadership and strategy

  • Step in for the President when needed

  • Help coordinate board activities and initiatives

  • Support program development and execution

  • Monitor progress toward organizational goals

  • Assist with partnerships and community outreach

  • Provide leadership support across all departments


Secretary

The Secretary ensures accurate documentation and organization of all official records and communications.

Duties:

  • Record and maintain meeting minutes for all board meetings

  • Manage organizational documents and records

  • Ensure proper documentation of decisions and actions

  • Handle official correspondence on behalf of the organization

  • Maintain board member contact information

  • Assist with scheduling meetings and sending notices

  • Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements


Treasurer

The Treasurer oversees the financial health and accountability of the organization.

Duties:

  • Manage and monitor the organization’s finances

  • Prepare financial reports for board meetings

  • Oversee budgeting and financial planning

  • Ensure proper handling of funds and financial records

  • Monitor income, expenses, and cash flow

  • Assist with financial compliance and reporting requirements

  • Support fundraising efforts with financial insight


Chaplain

The Chaplain provides spiritual guidance and support, helping to maintain the faith-centered foundation of the organization.

Duties:

  • Offer prayer and spiritual encouragement during meetings and events

  • Provide spiritual guidance to board members and participants

  • Support the emotional and spiritual well-being of those served

  • Help ensure organizational decisions align with faith-based values

  • Lead devotionals or moments of reflection when appropriate

  • Offer support during times of crisis or need

  • Encourage a culture of compassion, integrity, and service


Journalist

The Journalist is responsible for documenting and sharing the organization’s story through written and visual content.

Duties:

  • Capture and document events, programs, and initiatives

  • Write articles, summaries, and impact stories

  • Assist with newsletters, blogs, and press releases

  • Maintain records of organizational milestones and achievements

  • Collaborate with the marketing team for content creation

  • Ensure accurate and engaging storytelling

  • Help build the organization’s public narrative and voice


Marketing Strategist

The Marketing Strategist leads efforts to grow awareness, engagement, and visibility for the organization.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns

  • Oversee branding consistency across all platforms

  • Manage social media presence and content direction

  • Identify target audiences and outreach opportunities

  • Analyze marketing performance and adjust strategies

  • Support event promotion and community engagement

  • Collaborate with other board members on campaigns


Grant Writer

The Grant Writer focuses on securing funding opportunities to support the organization’s programs and initiatives.

Duties:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities

  • Write and submit grant proposals and applications

  • Track deadlines and reporting requirements

  • Maintain relationships with funding organizations

  • Assist in developing program budgets for proposals

  • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and expectations

  • Monitor and report on grant outcomes and impact


Members-at-Large

Members-at-Large serve as flexible leaders who support the organization in various capacities based on need.

Duties:

  • Participate actively in board meetings and discussions

  • Support organizational initiatives and events

  • Provide input on decisions and strategic planning

  • Assist with committees or special projects

  • Represent the organization within the community

  • Volunteer time and skills where needed

  • Advocate for the mission and programs of the organization
