The Ora Bell Strong Scholarship Application


D.A.R.L.N. Donations is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Ora Bell Strong Scholarship, designed to support and empower single mothers pursuing higher education or vocational training.

Scholarships will be awarded to deserving single mothers who demonstrate resilience, purpose, and a commitment to improving their lives and the lives of their children through education.


STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The Ora Bell Strong Scholarship is intended to:

Recognize single mothers who have demonstrated strength, perseverance, and dedication to personal and academic growth.

Promote educational advancement by providing financial assistance to mothers striving to create a stable and successful future for their families.

Advance the mission of D.A.R.L.N. Donations by supporting women in their journey toward self-sufficiency, leadership, and long-term impact within their communities.


MISSION

The Ora Bell Strong Scholarship honors the strength, resilience, and legacy of women who rise above challenges to build a better future—not only for themselves, but for generations to come.


AWARDS GIVEN

At least 2 scholarships will be awarded annually to selected applicants.

Scholarship amounts will vary based on available funding; however, each award will be no less than $500,  $1,000, or $1,500

Funds may be applied toward:

Tuition

Books and educational materials

Certification or training programs


RECOGNITION

Recipients will be recognized by  D.A.R.L.N. Donations Committee Chair or a designated recognition event. Scholarship recipients may also be featured across D.A.R.L.N. Donations platforms.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

Be a single mother

Be currently enrolled or accepted into a college, university, trade school, or certification program

Reside in Arkansas / Jefferson, Pulaski, Saline, Benton County

Demonstrate financial need

Exhibit a commitment to education, personal growth, and community impact

Additional consideration will be given to applicants who:

Have overcome significant life challenges

Are actively involved in community service or leadership

Show strong determination to create generational changeThe Ora Bell Strong Scholarship supports single mothers pursuing higher education or career training. This scholarship assists women who demonstrate resilience, determination, and a commitment to improving their lives through education.
